Gateway Suite (WIP)

Featured Replies

I started this piece with the third section, but as I worked out what I meant to be a small intro, it just got longer and longer. No deep meaning in this piece, just stream of consciousness... I tried printing the score. I couldn't jog the layout properly and sections kept getting cut off. Since I compose using the piano roll, I can't vouch the musical notation being right anyway... Let me know if it's even in the ballpark.Made with Logic 8, the Apple Symphony Jam Pack and Kirk Hunter Solo Strings.

minimal and bittersweet. well done, and that's Logic 8? interesting

I love the slow development in the beginning. It reminds me of some sort of peace and tranquility. I can see this as being something that would be apart of a movie score or play or something. Very good work, I love when the violin develops, then the bass comes in, that's my most favorite part. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Thanks for the feedback!

I gravitated to Logic because it seemed the next step above the Garage Band that came with my workstation. Being a complete novice, I have no idea whether it's the right app for composition/playback or not... What is the standard/usual?

Depends on what you want.

If you want it preformed I would go for a typesetting program like Finale or Sibelius.
