Psalm 33 (choral prelude)

I tought, let's just write some baroque music. It's a choral prelude for Psalm 33. This is not a real organ, but Hauptwerk's St. Anne's (Mosely) virtual organ. These are the stops I used:Swell: Oboe 8', Clarinet 8', TremulantGreat: Lieblich gedackt 8', Dulciana 8'Pedals: Octave 8', Flute bass 8'This is of course not a very 'original' or progressive piece, it was just fun to write :).

This was nice, although for some reason, I had to turn my speakers up to full blast to hear the music :blink: But anyway, about the music:

--Nice use of counter-point and adding that extra voice, there's good musical sense present, and not-bland scales used :)

--I've said this spiel about Baroque-styled pieces before, and I'll say it again: these sort of Baroque pieces are about counter-point and exploration. If you don't have a memorable melody in your Baroque piece, don't repeat phrases! You only did it once, so it's just a minor thing in this case, but trust me, you'd do well to simply remove it. If you want to repeat that phrase again, do so in a different variation: but since that phrase doesn't really stand out from the rest of the piece, I don't see why you'd bother :dunno:

--What you have here is nice, but it's unadulterated Baroque. Baroque by itself is an almost completely intellectual, literal form of music, and that aesthetic can get old quick. Why not mix it with some other style to add some spice?

--I'm glad you had fun writing it! (And as the paranoid freak-of-the-week said above, it was fun to listen to ;)) I haven't made a hard-core Baroque piece yet: I really need to try that out.

You mean the long repeat at the end? And thank you for the mark and the 'fun-to-listen-to-comment'

I'll change that repeat perhaps, but this is just a small, unimportant piece
