The graphic seems a lot better but what I like about GP5 is it's simplicity ...every thing is so clear... so what do you think ??

I've tried out a trial version. It's just about as easy to use. Some interface challenges lead to moderate confusion but, for the most part, it is just as simple to use. It is also much more 'score-minded' than Guitar Pro 5 so it's actually possible to produce decent looking scores through 6 which is a near impossibility for 5. The RSE is also improved to a degree and includes keyboards as well now. Though I never use RSE so it's not much of a selling point for me personally. Overall, I would recommend the switch though especially if you want to produce anything that isn't for a rock band ensemble.

Going from GP4 to GP5 had very little effect on me so I'm cautious about updating to 6 at all.

As a general rule of thumb: if you don't see any new features that you need, and your workflow is smooth and happy now, then why bother upgrading?

Trust me, while 4 and 5 were pretty much the exact program with some minor adjustments and RSE, 6 is substantially different in some respects. And I'd recommend upgrading for anyone who uses Guitar Pro who would also like to be able to produce decent looking scores.

Well I have tried the new thing...

so comments... :

1) I liked the new graphics ... (seems a lot more professional.. not like the 4th and 5th editions which were like an open source soft and not an expensive scoring professional soft )... i also liked the possibility to open more than one sheet in the same page with the new "ongletes" thing... which was not possible in the early versions

2)I also like the new effects and pedals with the RSE2 ...giving a more realistic sound especially for blues and jazz pieces...

well they sure have focused on the visuals and the presentation of the music sheet but what i didn't like is this "menu"

it's really misplaced and they should get it back where it used to be (in the bottom and at the top of the page )

one other thing ... 4 voices for a guitar or a bass ?? what the hell ??? =/ totally useless ...

well I'm going to keep both versions on my computer..

Its does look like its worth getting considering all the new features including the RSEs. The RSEs in the Pro 5 was terrible even worst then the midi sounds. I loved guitar pro 5 but there were any things that I wished it had and they have it in pro 6. You should try out the trial version of pro 6.
