Integrating Sibelius 6/Sonar 8

Does anyone know how to do this, so that I can see the score whilst Sonar 8's instruments are playing it?

Why to do that in the first place? You have a score editor in Sonar. ;)

Yeah I know, but I'm so used to Sibelius and don't know how to use Sonar at all :/

Well the unhelpfully blunt response to that would be "so learn", but in the interest of helpfulness you should know that there isn't really a way to tie them together like this so that changes reflect in realtime across both. You could try ReWiring them but it's a bunch of effort that seems a bit pointless.

If you can't write in Sonar then either learn to, or don't — write in Sibelius like you're used to and then export your composition as a MIDI that you bring into Sonar and sequence for a good sound with the better instruments. It's an unnecessary extra step (unless you need a score for musicians) but if it works for you then by all means run with it!

Rewire doesn't support MIDI-data. Next generation Rewire 2.0 should do it. You can use a virtual MIDI cable or

MIDI via LAN.
