Elizabeth
Sorry for not posting this yesterday! This month's competition is pretty free-flowing. The challenge is to write a composition (any style, genre, instrumentation, tempo, etc.) using the given motifs in the attatchment. Both must be used, but they do not need to directly follow one another. Like I said, implement any creative combinations of instruments (voice may be included)! It may be transposed into any key and must be at least 2 minutes long. This will be judged on primarily on creativity, then on how well you pulled off your originality (example: A tuba/xylophone duet). You must submit a PDFto qualify, but I would prefer both PDF and MP3. Because I posted this late, the deadline will not be until July 5th, 2010. I should have the results posted by that week. Judges: 1. Elizabeth (Jesusfreak1277) 2. ParanoidFreak 3. Johnbucket Participants: 1. sabiansoldier 2. impresario 3. norby 4. MattZ2007 5. TheWannaBeChopin 6. XxCransworthxX 7. paquijote 8. ParanoidFreak
I'd like to judge, if you've got the space - haven't had a lot of time to compose lately. But a lot of time to listen :santa:
paquijote
By the way, this is the first competition I've joined here. Do we just post a link/upload the music file to this thread? Also, is it necessary that sheet music accompany the music file?
Elizabeth
Yes, you may upload the submissions to this particular thread. And for this particular competition, you must have sheet music to accompany the music file.

Elizabeth
I like it! Only, I'd like to have scores for different categories (i.e. creatity, score neatness, overall affect, etc.). What do you think? Then, maybe the best overall score? Idk- maybe I'm getting to technical with this :P

impresario
Will we be marked on how easy it is to play? Because I have a very fast high bassoon part that would e extremely challenging, and an english horn part that is completely out of it's range, but it sounds better an octave higher. impresario
Well mine's not playable... no worries I'll just put it down the octave or give it the oboe. If I finish early am I allowed to post it on the forums?
