Oklahoma City University Competition

Featured Replies

We are looking for quality Concert works and Film scoring submissions for this competition. This competition is sponsored by Jamie Whitmarsh's university (Oklahoma City University). Submissions could be a piece you have already written, and you can submit up to three pieces. Since the instrumentation is open, sending smaller ensembles (trios, quartets, etc.) is recommended, however if you are feeling ambitious, feel free to submit those more ambitious works as well.

  • Who: Oklahoma City University composer's competition
  • Type of competition: Two divisions, Concert works and Film scoring
  • Info: The short film is made available three weeks before the due date (as speedy writing is something that composers usually seem to have to do working with film.
  • Cost of Entry: Free
  • Prize: performance of your work, and a showing of the film/score, both at a concert of ours in the Fall.

Please visit their website for more information, and start submitting your works on that site!

That'd rule out a great amount of YC members - including myself

yea... Too bad :( I did not even start composing when I was at high school, too bad to see how many competitions there are for people under 18 or for people on high school..
