the crossroads

I presume this was with notation, since it sounds very digital, am I right? I like the slow buildup, but use some dynamics! It really ruins the atmosphere when you have everything at a constant volume throughout. That is really the biggest problem at the moment, the orchestration and stuff is pretty decent (actually, pretty good) and I adore the tasteful usage of percussion. I don't really get the feel of my love is gone, but hey, that's all opinion really, it's the piece quality that really matters.

Carry on composing though, the more you do, the better you get, and I look forward to seeing more of your works!! :)

Hey tercjawski!

I guess this is the appropriate thing to do when you lose your love. It's very minimalistic, which is kinda neat. It would work well as some ambience. Where do you see this fitting?

I appreciated the cymbal roll but I wish there was more going on afterwards like a theme or something.

That's a cool groove that happens 'round 2:04. It completely transforms the piece. I'm a fan :)

I'm wondering if you can make the opening lines of your piece a bit more interesting. For me, the piece only started to cook once we were about a minute in. Somehow, you gotta make that first minute more interesting. Dynamics, like Cheeselord suggested would certainly help. Maybe some crescendos on some of those held woodwind notes at the beginning. Maybe make more of a phrase in the piano line so that there's a natural flow from note-to-note until you reach the final one.

Neat piece, tercjawski!
