I Got Cold Feet

Featured Replies

This is a rock piece I made just now when I thought of the anxiety of getting married xDYeah, I'm pretty strange O)OHope you enjoy =) Thoughts/comments/criticisms appreciated: thank you! ^_^(Lyrics pending!)

I Got Cold Feet

Immediately, what came across to me was anxiety in the opening piano riff. This was built upon brilliantly by the polyrhythms. The harmonies were a tad predictable, but I honestly don't care. I really loved this. Fantastic work as usual! I really liked the drum loop. Where did you get it?

The bells were a really cool addition, IMO, and complimented the piano very well. This piece really had a great rock feel, and I could easily see a band playing this. I would love to see some lyrics. Anyways, I'd love to be able to say more, but I really can't think of anything! Thanks for posting! :D

This is awesome, very catchy and enjoyable. I listened to it twice. As Alex said, the harmonies were a bit predictable, but the song as a whole made up for it. I love the chorus (??) and the bridge in D major. The transition from the bridge to the final of the song sounds a bit cheesy to me, with the Emaj triad being literally outlined in the melody. Perhaps you could keep the harmony there but have the melody do something else? Great work here!

Thank you both so much! :o

Alex:

Thank you so much! Harmony is perhaps my biggest Achilles's heel, but I've been slowly improving. You should have heard me when I first started  It always somehow managed to be I-III-IV-V-I! Even now I find it a little difficult to break away from it, but I have, and to some pretty good results :) I'm glad you liked the bells in the piece as well.

As for the rhythm, I just did whatever seemed appropriate for the song, and what rhythms would really accent each other.

Paquijote:

Wow, you even favorited it -- O)O

Thank you! Yes, the chorus is the short section in A Major, and the bridge is in D Major. As for the transition, I'll probably be making some slight revisions on that. I'm just glad it's not a song-ruiner

Again, thank you all so much for taking the time to comment on my work here! ;)

No, thank YOU!

Ugh, man I wish you had lyrics! I really wanna know what is happening at the chorus when it switches to more of a major sound :D

You definitely nailed the anxiety with the piano, it sounds great. I like your use of the bells, gives it a feeling of marriage and all haha XD

I'm trying to figure out though...there sounds like two pianos in this? There's the primary sounding one during verses yet it sounds like another piano very quite in the background. Am I right? I love your guitar how it sorta is in the background and outlashes at parts during verses. You're a very good indie song writer, if these instruments were played with real stuff, oh that would be so cool to listen to! The ending is a tad abrupt though...perhaps more lead up to it would be good? Other then that, once again...superb job! Loved the song, very well done :)
