Northern Lights Rag

Featured Replies

This is a piece I completed recently. I wanted to write a piece with an introspective classic rag feel like some pieces by Joseph Lamb, since I had not written like that in the past couple years. Thanks for listening!

Northern Lights Rag

Wow this really felt like Lamb, even though I only know his Nightingale rag. I'm not a huge fan of rag but you managed to keep me interested throughout - it's the repetitiveness I suppose: I really enjoyed the D section for that matter, for although it was very much in style with the other parts it did feel like an interruption of the pulse. Minor complaint: the Grandioso part could have been even more grandioso and more forte in my opinion. This one's going with my favs and 10/10

Hmmm, well, I was expecting something more "cosmic" from the title. Brings to mind a piano player on the street corner in new orleans, playing to himself under the moon after everyone has left the bars for the night. I thought it was a good ragtime piece, didn't remind me of the Northern Lights though.

Very nice as always Max.

Another consistently great piece of music! Fantastic job :Phones:
