'Graduation' - Symphony

Featured Replies

I started this symphony in my final year at Colchester Institute. One of the assignments for the composition minor was to complete an orchestral sketch lasting approximately one or two minutes. I utilized this opportunity, completing the assignment, expanding on my original ideas over the course of the year. The end result is this symphony, which also acts as my graduation piece. The symphony is constructed in four movements. The first, written in sonata-form, guides the listener through the themes that will be heard by means of its initial slow-adagio. Each movement shows my inspiration, drawing on various influences from the past, none more prominent than Beethoven’s Sonata Pathetique.

'Graduation' - Symphony

I like this first movement a lot, especially the slower parts at the beginning and end.

Please post the score!

I've been listening to the for movements, and I find them excellent, to say the least. I can't wait for the score!

Pretty interesting!!! I'd love to see the score!

Great piece, sounds good!!
