Today We Ride

I tried to recreate the image of riding through fields and prairies in the Western frontier. I do not know how old this song is but it definitely is not recent.I don't know what I want to do with this but enjoy.

the only complaint or closest to complaint would be the sampler. you could amazing things with a great sampler Wendell. hope to hear more from you

Can you make sure that your notes don't overlap each other too much? A little overlap is alright but right now, the violins at the beginning and the flute afterwards sound like they were played on a keyboard because of that overlap.

Oh, I love that theme when it gets into full swing around 0:32. I was in the middle of writing something, and then it just grabbed me.

Turn down those brass around 0:55. They really cloud everything up.

Nice piece! Just clean up those brass and those overlaps!

Currently playing with the different SF2 samples. Have yet to download all of them... or even put a dent in the downloading process but It's getting there!

I think it might be the reverb that was making the notes overlap as I don't know how to make notes overlap in Finale 2009.

I'll see what I can do to revamp this now that I use LMMS as my main music composing program.

I really quite like t his piece - I certainly got a Western feel from it. Apart from Johns recommendation, and that I'd have liked to have heard it go for a bit longer, it's cool - solid orchestration and the harmonies fit together quite nicely.

I look forward to seeing what you could do with LMMS - there's almost 3GB of SF2 files on http://freesf2.com , some are really good!!! May I suggest that as well as using default effect plugins, to use other free reverbs, suck as epicverb (google it ;) )
