The only thing that would cause you to take longer would be the fact that you don't have/take enough time to do it. If you decide to take the supercourse, make the time to do it. I developed perfect pitch in 2 months about 8 months ago, I haven't re-done the supercourse since then, and my perfect pitch is just as good as ever. Just as you can teach an isolated person to understand speech you can't teach them to understand it on a level a five year old would, so all I am suggesting is that maybe you don't have perfect pitch but something that is good enough. It just happened, but suddenly I have to learn to hear things all over again. I can't remember songs unless I remember exactly what note they start on. It's very discouraging. I have these "standard" pieces of music practically imprinted into my head (like Vivaldi's Spring.) To think of what G sharp sounds like for example, I would go through Spring until I reach G sharp.
