Dark Adventure Intro Music

This may be the intro movie theme for a video game my friends are programming. It's intended to be dark, but adventurous and majestic. Any comments are appreciated.And sorry, there is no score. I made this with a sequencer, writing out each part but not notationally. I could probably make one if someone wants to see a score, but as of now, there isn't one.

I really like the mood you set, and there's some really cool orchestration. However, since this was done with, I'd just like to point out a few mixing issues.

Fistr of all, the percussion at the start is far too panned out and dry - sounds in front of the whole orchestra. The french horns in particular sound synthy, which kinda spoil the whole epicness for me. However, apart from those two points, it's a very nice piece...what samples did you use?? :)

Thanks for the reply, Cheese. To answer your sample question, I used EWQLSO Gold with FruityLoops Studio 9. I have been fishing around for a better french horn sample, because I agree that it's too synthy and punchy for the epic level it needs to be, but it's still a work in progress to find that... As for the percussion, it's funny you should mention that. I actually panned them out and back to make it sound more distant right after I posted this, and I will probably update this file with the new one in the next couple days after I make adjustments.

The drone works well with the flutes. Cheeselord's right about the mood being spot on. Good work. The random percussion at the beginning didn't really fit in with the rest.

I think the french horns sound a little synthy cuz they're playing at the same velocity all the time.

The mixing is a little funky. It's not very loud but your track is still distorting at times.

Definitely accurate description. Is it a war epic? I agree with John Axon, the percussion at the beginning doesn't make sense. Sounds are awesome. Love the driving bass drum. Overall, freakin' sweet.
