Death of the Clock

Featured Replies

An attempt at atonal music/secundal harmony.

Death of the Clock

Very nice! Poor old clock though :( It is not very atonal, and thank god (rather, thank you) for that because this is great as it is!

Scorrrrre. It would help everyone if you included a score, it was just being discussed in the shout box how it made it difficult to review pieces when people don't include one.

I found the music to be nice, as royreintjes said, it's not really atonal, and it's not really secundal either, as you tend to treat seconds a dissonances which lead to triadic harmonies, so the whole thing is perceived from that view, which is fine. While this piece does really good, I think it would be a good exercise for you to write a truely atonal, secundal piece. And for us all really, it's hard to write good atonal music--and to write interesting secundal harmony.

Thanks for the comments. I see what you mean about it not really being atonal.

Sorry about the absence of a score; I have no score writing software or even a scanner so it's just not possible at this time.

i love it, very atmospheric, and the fact that it has some tonality rather than being completly a tonal makes it all the better IMO. If it was just a-tonal you wouldnt get that tradegy you get from the distorted harmony. I dont really think a score is needed to enjoy music really, so i wouldnt worry about that, although it would be nice so that other people can play it. Great peice, very atomspheric, well done!

Hanging on the edge of tonality. I like it!

There's this brilliant melodic moment about a minute in that just grabbed me. the melody is beautiful and is set against some really disturbing dissonances giving it a really tormented feel. I mean that all in a really good way by the way.

Maybe you could take a picture of it and import it using a USB camera port? Love it, by the way. Keep rockin' the music- your progressions are solid, and your absence of progressions also works well when you do that. Me like.
