download free finale 2008

Featured Replies

So this version lets you save files and gives you some of the basic functions of finale 2008.

It might be great for someone who just started writing music, or a nice addition to someone who uses sibelius.

I have not found any catches or whatever and I think it is more of a publicity thing than an illegal upload.

(Please let me know if I'm wrong though).

This is the site: http://www.kbsbv.nl/...k7download.html (it's dutch)

you can fill in whatever name (naam), address (adres), zipcode (postcode), town/city (woonplaats) as long as your email is correct. I have tried it myself and they don't spam you with advertisements. Just use a junk mailaddress (one ought to have at least one of those right ;)) if you like.

Press 'verzend' (= send).

A link will be sent to you in an email, click it and download starts.

Just to clarify, what they're letting you download is Finale NotePad 2008 — *not* the full version. Nowadays NotePad is paid. If you ever find a free download of the full version it will be illegal and you will obviously not be allowed to post about it here.

For the record, any site that wants my name, address (including postal code), and email before letting me download something that's free and outdated is sketchy as far as I'm concerned.

All that aside, it's a nice gesture, Roy, so thanks.

NotePad 2010 and up (I believe?) is about $10. As far as I know, 2008 was still free back when they offered it, I think I recall downloading 2009 for free as well. Also, as far as I can tell they don't even offer the old versions of NotePad. If it was free back then as I believe it was, and they no longer sell it, I don't think downloading the old, free version constitutes any theft.

Incidentally, Reader is free and relatively new. MakeMusic wanted to offer a free downloadable program that could read the newest MUS files, and I guess NotePad was getting too good for them to feel like it'd be worth their while to give it away as they fixed the bugs and added features to NP. Be advised, Reader cannot do ANY editting. It can read and print only.

And yeah, BitTorrents are illegal. Don't forget.

Actually, torrents are not illegal in and of themselves, they just tend to be used as a means to transfer and share files illegally. The system itself is completely legal.

Touche.
