September 21, 201015 yr This is my new favorite of mine. Of course all my newest ones are my new favorite :P Made it with Aria Maestosa, and the Fluid GM sound font. I think this one is my best, too, because I varied it more, it's longer, It has more themes, and it's not as repetitive. Not good with names, so I named it what I used to think my mom said when I was little and I asked who called and the caller ID really said unknown name. Of course if I ever actually need a good name for some reason, it's not gonna be Unknown Nang :P Someone recently told me that MuseScore sucks. That explains all the pain and misery and bad scores I get from using it... I dunno if MuseScore can notate drums, and I don't know anything about drum notation anyway, but I took out the drums because... well I don't know how to notate it. But I did manage to add instrument names, even though its not the way MuseScore intended I'm sure. Critique and comments please? Unknown Nang
September 21, 201015 yr That is some funky disco, Fezzomorte =) The opening stops are interesting. I think they add some suspense and anticipation. If this was a disco or dance track, it wouldn't really fit, but since this track is a little hard to define, I think those pauses are fine. Before Marius tells you, get Reaper or some other DAW so you can truly control your sound. For notation software, it sounds pretty good. The variation is good. One repetition problem was at 3:00. When you have the grungy rhythm guitar playing 8th notes for a whole bar, it sounds really repetitive b/z all the notes are the same volume. Really good variation overall. I was able to listen to the whole 6 minutes without saying, "Gahhh! When is this piece ending?" That's a plus =) For your chorus, it sounds like there are two parts of it. Maybe add or take away an instrument from the second part just so that it sounds a little different. Nice work, Fezzomorte! Now get a DAW =) -Johna
September 21, 201015 yr Author Thanks! I forgot to mention that I made it with Aria Maestosa, not MuseScore. I just imported it into MuseScore to create the score. Never heard of a DAW, but thanks for the recommendation, I am trying out Reaper right now :D
September 21, 201015 yr One of the most epic choruses I have ever heard for this genre XD I like the theme here, and the claps in the percussion work well. I agree with you that there is a nice amount of variety, I am digging the 2:00 section! One thing I notice is one of the cymbals in the percussion is constantly being played. It kind of drags, it's a small thing to pick on but I did notice that. Like 3:00, you primarily hear that cymbal being hit and it's often hit, but like I said, I'm simply being picky This is however a really nice piece. I agree with the other poster, that I never felt like, when will this end?!?!! For the length, that is particularly impressive. Nice title too by the way haha. Nice ending as well! It all flowed pretty good. I really liked this one Fezzo! Great work on it -Matt
