Adagio for solo piano

A light piece for piano. My first composition in about two years (!).

Adagio for solo piano

This is a interesting and at the same time strange mixture of all kinds of styles. At times it sounded as a baroque like imitative texture, together with a predominant classical era harmonic language, but at times you used more adventurous harmonies (closer to the romantic idiom). anyway, at least the dynamic range and some moments in texture was reminded me or the romantic era.

Halfway I was totally lost, thinking about the mixture of styles, I though for a while the piece lacked a structure, but only until the main theme reappeared. That was reassuring, but the strange feeling of mixing remains. Can you tell a bit more about your influences? Maybe a bit about your creative dry spell ? This piece makes me really curious...

love your ending chords! i use some similar often! i like it very much.

its like jrcramer said, its a mixture. i cant add anything of importance other then that i liked it :)
