New Competition Guidlines

Featured Replies

As of today, Jesusfreak1227 and I are in charge of moderating the interactive forums. We are looking for help in coming up with a set of standard guidelines for hosting a competition. This is to help monitor the quality of the competitions, as well as avoid confusion regarding hosting, judging, and participating.

So far, we have discussed the following.

1. Making sure that each competition is completely legit and squared away before being approved for entries. I have seen many situations in which members sign up to host a competition for a certain month and will not post the actual competition thread until the second week. I've also seen cases in which the results of a competition aren't posted until months after the competition, and sometimes not at all. So basically we are thinking of requiring each competition/host to be approved before posting the thread, to ensure that all of the guidelines and such are understood before people enter. This is also when judging committees will be assigned. (see below)

We are also looking for people who would be willing to sign up as judges for the competitions. We are looking to create "mini judging committees" to ensure the quality of judging (as well as allowing a variety of people participate...and not the same people over and over again). Staff and members alike are encouraged to participate in this!

If you have any questions, please send a PM to me or Jesusfreak1227, or reply to this thread!

We are doing our best to make this a better site, and we both agree that asking for community imput with our decisions is the best way to go!

Thank you! :)

So what happens with the competition host thread?

So what happens with the competition host thread?

We haven't exactly discussed this yet, but as far as i know, as of now, we're probably gonna do away with it and just start over..

Well, if you do, be sure to sticky the thread or something. :) Wanna see it.
