Looking for critique on this incomplete jazz piece.

Here's a piece I composed the other day, that I'm looking for critique and suggestions on. It's called Funky Island, it's a mix between funk and island music. Unfortunately, I only have a midi right now for you guys to critique. But yeah, tear it apart :).

My only comments:

It seems a little frantic. The direction isn't clear and nothing is really developed - it's skittish and flips from one idea to another without being well prepared. Find something and give us something to hold onto. The melodic content lacks coherency and the tune on a whole seems a bit too hectic....

I gotta agree with robinjessome. It clashed a bit much for these poor ears and I honestly can't remember one theme. I like how you can make your drums and bass sound, but the rest was kind of ... meh. I like the ideas you got in there, just need a bit more developing to make parts stand out and be more memorable. Keep at it ! :D
