November 24, 201015 yr Well, it's not a theme or epic music; just atmosphere; short parts; just translations (dorian & lyrican scale); it was for a student film projectSilentW@ves SilentW@ves
November 24, 201015 yr Nifty. Do you have the film where this was from? It would be great to see it in action. I like the low strings at 1:55. It's a nice change. Harp was a pleasant addition at 3:20. Neat piece, Nemesis! I'd love to see the video with it. -John
November 25, 201015 yr Hi nemesis, First of all, love the vocals at the start! Were they live or sampled?? :D However, I understand that it's a film, but overall, the whole thing sounds kinda...well, lifeless IMHO. There didn't to be anything you were going for, nor any buildup or crescendo, the dynamics and textures seemed pretty stale (of course, you may have been forced to keep everything slowly plodding away to please the director :P ). For example, at 4:30, some spit and polish on dynamics and articulation for the harp and clarinet would have REALLY made it turn alive. I like the realism overall though, a few little finishing touches would be nice, but I'm guessing you were on a time limit eh ;) At 5:40 though, the first chord was fabulous - an awesome blend of rich strings coming through. The harp flourishes are also extremely pleasant too, works really well!! Anything, thanks for sharing, and I too'd really love to see the film that this accompanied.
November 26, 201015 yr Author Heyx mates, thx for comments! Of course, it's not my style regarding composing - it's very simple. But the director is the king The soprano is a friend of mine. I've a little studio in my flat. Not very big but regarding vocals it's ok. "but I'm guessing you were on a time limit eh" That's right ^^ Right know I'm testing a new library regarding woodwinds.
