December 13, 201015 yr A theme that will play in the game-in-dev when something eerie or mysterious is happening. It's meant to be kind of skin-crawling, but I don't know if I achieved that or not. What do you think?Comments/thoughts/criticisms appreciated. Thank you! ^)^Origin Origin
December 14, 201015 yr I think this is more appropriate for mysterious-glorious than mysterious-scary. I really admired the harp passage in the seventh measure - creative Although I may be wrong, but I think chromatic scales are unplayable by the actual harp... I also liked the arpeggiated piano chord progressions a lot... overall +1 ))
December 20, 201015 yr Author Oooh, mysterious-glorious also really works, because this is also the theme for a grand and enigmatic creature in the game :o Thanks a bunch for leaving a comment, much appreciated! :D
December 20, 201015 yr uuuuh i think its very good. when it grow up is really beautifoul. sometimes maybe a little too static for me, but probably depends by his function... (hope u understand my english, ahah.....) cromatic-harp exists, but its an instrument very unusual.
December 20, 201015 yr It looks very much like this piece was written to be utilized in electronic format, which means performability (talking about the harp) isn't an issue. In HS as often as not, we'd have a keyboardist play harp parts electronically anyway. Comments -The entrance of the strings and voices at :50 is rather sudden, sonically. Perhaps they should enter a little more subtly -Major chord at 1:33...erm. It's quite a major cadence. I love the corruption of that chord after the fact! But again you let it cadence with a major chord. -I like the pops in the voice. -2:34 again is sudden -Big honkin' major cadence at the end again without corruption. Anti-creepy. My opinion. If you're going for creepy, I think you could go much further with your disturbing dissonances. And away from the major cadences. It works! But I think it could be better. Thanks for sharing, Serge. :) Edited December 20, 201015 yr by Peter_W.
December 21, 201015 yr Interesting song, I like the way you keep it very minimalistic melody-wise. As for being creepy, there's almost as many times it feels uplifting as times it feels creepy. Examples are 1:08, 1:32, and 2:52. But, if it's for a giant mysterious creature like you said, that awe inspiring feeling would be very fitting. So you're actually working on this for a game? Nice! How did you end up in that position?
