January 5, 201115 yr Hello, I would love to know how to suppress page numbers in Finale 2010. It concerns a number of smaller piano pieces which I have written in the current of last year, which I know would like to assemble. When I print them now, every new piece starts by the number one. This would mean that I have 6 number 1 pages in the bundle. Hence I would love to know how to change the page numbers of the second piece, which should actually begin start counting on page 4. I thank you in advance for your comments and advice. WS
January 5, 201115 yr Suggestion 1: put them into one file Suggestion 2 (what you want): you can manually change page numbers. Double click the actual page number you want to change, delete it and type in the desired page number. [edit] Actually...gimme a second. There might be a faster way. Got it. Step 1- edit>select all Step 2- text>edit page offset Step 3- choose desired amount of pages that will come before this piece. Finale will shift every page number off of that base. Default is 0, obviously. Let me know if you have a problem. There's a bug (surprise surprise) that could occur if you're unlucky and did a certain thing beforehand.

Hello, Thanks for your quick reply. I followed the procedure you indicated but was unable to find the third step (choose the desired amount of pages). The screen just said add to current page number. I am pleased however with suggestion two, I can change them manually that is fine as well :-). kind regards WS
January 5, 201115 yr No, you got it! Change that number to offset ALL of your pages in one fell swoop. Because you've selected every page item in the document, it'll affect every page number, not just the current page. Try it. :P
January 5, 201115 yr Page numbers after combining files is another thing Finale does not do with ease. Don't forget that even page numbers go on the left and odd page numbers go on the right. Sometimes Finale doesn't realize this :P
January 6, 201115 yr Author Hello, Thank you Peter and Black Orpheus for your advice. I played around a bit with the techniques which you posted yesterday. After a while I got the hang of it. It looks great now :) Thanks :-) Kind regards, WS
