Some old work...

Featured Replies

Here are a couple of selections from older works...

An allegro from a concerto grosso I wrote in 1992.

And the opening movement of a viola da gamba concerto I wrote in 2004.

Enjoy or run for the hills.

The allegro is okay. I don't really know much about that genre, so I can't really give you advice or c&c on that one.

The opening movement is nice, but I'd make the make the melodic instruments a bit louder. Again, I can't really say much about this one.

Good God! What were you, about 12 in 1992? You were young, that's for sure. Well done!

The Gamba Concerto displays amply not only your mastery of the Baroque style, but that you are able to make use of it as a vehicle for your unique musical personality and sensibilities. This even seems to have some Rococo/Galant elements. Very nice indeed.

You and BE make me want to write more baroque music! :)

They both make me want to give it up forever... ><

Yup, but this is slightly revised. I expanded the expositions to permit a viola entry and the continuo realization is new. It's untouched otherwise.

I sometimes venture into the 1760s and 1770s...

So do it! ;)

i am deeply interested in anything for viola da gamba and would love to know what you've composed for it. send the allegro too, please!

hmm...

i didn't take anything down--must be a bandwidth problem.

before i send it by e-mail (too lazy right now), try this link:

http://www.myspace.com/contrapunctusxv

one movement from the gamba concerto is there. the other stuff is different, but i think everyone's heard the rest before.

thanks! delightful work, very well written. the other pieces there are great too, congrats! anyway when you have time to send the files please do it, for i had to listen to them through a slow connection with some unpleasant pauses. best regards!
