A New Beginning

Featured Replies

My first try without using midi notes. I hope you'll enjoy :)

A New Beginning

This one is very beautiful, I wouldn't change a note! I don't have anything else to say about this :)

Beautiful game music. It's so static though. I really wanted to hear more harmonic motion. Not necessarily a different chord progression because that seems to be part of the cohesive element of this work. But a key change with contrasting material at some point. You can always move back after some harmonic adventuring.

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

I really liked it!! Well done :D

This makes me think of a blend between some of Masashi Hamauzu's work and the Chrono Cross soundtrack. I really like some of the textures you're creating with the solo strings, but have to agree with Peter that it could use a little variation in the key. Just some sort of little "B section" that breaks us away from the establishment for a second and then brings us back. Overall very nice though! :)

It IS beautiful for a first try in MIDI. Pärt-ish in some places.

In what way is this game/film music?

In a way I find that there is too much clumsy-ness between the piano melody, piano accompaniment and strings... I don't know if playing more rhythmically tight would help it all, or if you have to compose breath space in the lines for each of them to be absorbed by the listener.

It's not MIDI. and yes it may not really suit for a game or movie, it's not really that important. I just wanted to share it. Thanks, however.

ah sorry.... read it as your first try WITH midi. So how did you do it then?

You posted this in the Game/Film section so I assumed that it was written to picture/drama. Otherwise there are other subforums to post this in.

Thanks for posting!

Hehe I'm sorry to. Well I've not written notes and exported in in midi files and used them to record. I did play on my fancy midi keyboard however. More feeling that way, yet I do not consider myself a good pianist. But it's still better than the "robotic" feeling pure midi files get ;)

okay.... but it's still midi though.
