March 28, 201114 yr I enjoy repetitious/minimalistic pieces like this when they require you to listen carefully for little changes. If you're going to use obvious patterns, the trick is to know when (and what) to change to keep the listener interested. I think you did a good job with the changes at :56 and 1:25 (this one is of particular interest since the register of the moving part goes above the repeated riffs for the first time). By about 2:23 I started to get tired of the repetition... It seems like the pause there signals a climax of sorts, and then it winds down after. The piece feels like the right length, but maybe the build to the "climax" could use more intensity. Anyway I do like what you have. Do you happen to have a score?
