Valse de Tourbillon

Featured Replies

Valse de Tourbillon (Maelstrom Waltz), Op.13, for solo piano. Begins with a slow section (calm before the storm). Progresses into a presto section (the maelstrom), slows before the end (eye of the storm) and ends on a big Bb cadence (end of the storm).

I didn't hear anything as being particularly out of place - rather, I think what may need to be improved is your handling of the left hand  . Essentially, I found the patterns to get boring after a while, even if the melody and right-hand patterns change. The eight-note pattern occurs way too much to be able to maintain interest long enough, in my opinion. I would suggest varying the patterns a little. Try changing octaves, or using more far-reaching harmonies. In any case, that's my opinion. There is some good material, and there is certainly not anything outright bad - I just feel that the piece needs a little reworking to be more captivating.
