Gibberish

A chamber piece written for some of the musicians at my school. I had wanted to introduce them to new music without going the "Schoenberg" route my teachers both insist on using and then complain about when students become resistant to anything written after 1910.Orchestration: Trombone, Viola, Marimba, Timpani, and Piano

Gibberish

About how long did it take you to write all of these down?

The movements weren't written consecutively, but the whole thing took about a month.

These are really cool miniatures. Nice mixture of instruments, too. Very nice.

Very nice! I liked the concept, introducing stuff like modality and more pungent dissonance into the music without it not being somewhat grounded to what students would usually be exposed to. Did this go down well with said students?

I don't know yet. The composers (including myself) will be performing this in two weeks for the student body :)

Very fun little work here!

I enjoyed each movement, with only 1 criticism at all: 5th movement: something besides C, Db for viola.... maybe. It might work :P

Sometimes, it does sound gibberish-ey in the music. If that was your intention, it worked perfectly :P

Great work here! I wish I could find that like button... 'cause I do like it!

Thanks for posting!
