A Hint of Adventure

Featured Replies

My second attempt to compose an orchestral piece.I've thought of a small boy, who is lying around in the grass. Suddenly he hears a strange noise and senses an adventure. While running up a hill to see the source, he realizes, that it was just the sound of... well, the story ends here. ;-)

A Hint of Adventure

Wow! I love this Sonovice! Truly a piece in which I am saddened when reaching the end (because I want it to keep going!). I think that you could very easily elaborate on the three ideas you have here (which I would guess to be "lying in grass" "strange noise/sense of adventure" and "running up hill") and drag them out to create an EPIC piece of music!! I am in love with the melody for the "lying in the grass" part - it is so incredibly beautiful. Then with a wonderful transition, you're into the adventure part and finally onto the boy running up the hill (reminds me of pirates of the Caribbean). PLEASE make this piece longer and elaborate on these ideas...I can picture this being a 20 minute piece (the boy is in slow motion!). The description is great and really helped me to understand what you were thinking of while writing. Thanks! (btw I just finished my fourth listen).

And so the story ends here, eh? Interesting.

Welcome to YC, Sonovice! Nice piece!

1:02 is a cool change of pace. Try taking some of the reverb off of those strings; it will make them sound cleaner.

Sounds like adventure's happening. That horn line at 1:17 sounds very Avatarish. Good stuff.

Cool piece, Sonovice. I look forward to hearing more from you. Have a listen to some other composers on the site and leave some comments! They'll love it.

Peace,

-John

This sounds great, is it all orchestral instruments with no electronics and other things? Solid orchestration, I wouldn't change a thing! -Judas-

hey there , welcome to YC .

ver good chord progression . the piece is very emotional ! and i actually didnt want it to end too!.

and a very solid orchestration as judasF said.

but lower the reverb and the piece will get a 10 !
