New Clothes, Same Old Lie - Overture

Featured Replies

A piece I wrote as an overture to a "school" play I was in, also my first serious (well, relatively serious, at least) orchestral piece. Short for an overture, but the play wasn't even an hour long. Also, I DO plan on cleaning up the score, so please ignore any hanging tidbits. I am fixing them.

Well, it's actually rather humorous. Don't know if that was your intention, but it's got things that don't exactly make you laugh but you just kinda chuckle.. for me at least.

I think you don't need all that doubling in the 2nd and 1st violins. I'd split some of it up.

Also, no need for divisi in any other instruments besides strings :)

Thanks for posting!

It was a comedy...with 10 year olds in pivotal roles. So it was the kind of play that didn't exactly make you laugh but just kinda chuckle. XD

Thanks for the comment.
