May 19, 201115 yr This is my first experience with woodwinds and writing for any quintet. I had an idea for a sound and I just went with it. I am branching out more and more nowadays and now worrying whether my lack of formal training will hold me back or about what people will think. I have done my best so far although this is nowhere near complete. This is my summer project. I want it to be long and complete and good. Wind Quintet

May 19, 201115 yr Author That should be fixed although the file is only a piano midi score. It is still something to listen to while you look at the pdf. I was having every problem imaginable trying to post an MP3 file of this so this is what I have.
May 19, 201115 yr I love it when the texture becomes more vivid, i.e. the 3rd time that you use this melody. The structure has something of a theme with two variations, but is presented almost as a passacaglia, except the ostinato is in the oboe in stead of a bass voice. I think in the 2nd time you use the melody the rhythm becomes too much of the same, and I think that is why I like the 3rd part the most.
