May 27, 201114 yr Hello, This is a bossa nova I wrote about 2 years ago. The word "nosza" in Hungarian means something like "come on". It contains solos and a bit too much reverb...I hope you like it. NOSZA BOVA
May 27, 201114 yr Great stuff man! Really nice work! One comment you might find funny. Have another person write that bass solo for you. It sounds like your style on both guitar and bass. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome song you have there. Cheers.
May 27, 201114 yr I don't understand the form of this piece. Why is the bass solo only part of the head? Why are the solos trading?
May 27, 201114 yr Author I don't understand the form of this piece. Why is the bass solo only part of the head? Why are the solos trading? Hi. The form is: 2x main theme, then guitar solo on the main theme's harmony (1 and a half round), and then the bass solo (the other half), and main theme again... I know it's strange a bit, but i don't want to leave that idea (1:33) from the guitar solo. Maybe I'll expand the solos to solve it.
May 27, 201114 yr Yeah, have the guitar take two, and bass take an entire chorus. There's no way anyone would play this piece in the form you laid out.
May 30, 201114 yr i don't think it's strange at all. Very playable. The form is creative and more interesting than a standard "schooled-youngster" idea. Laughing can be a sign of insecurity. Ss
May 30, 201114 yr You play as many bossa novas and head charts as I, and you get to know what's weird and what isn't. One instrument taking 1 1/2 choruses for solo and the other taking half a chorus is weird. ;) Not just unique or creative: weird. Nothing else about this piece is avant garde or anything like that, so there's no reason for the form to be turned into "screwy head chart".
May 31, 201114 yr @szikoratibor I agree that you should expand your solos as stated. I am optimistic about the evolution of your genre. Your creativity and persistence to follow your voice inspires. Ss
