October 5, 201114 yr Hello, everyone! I am new to Young Composers so I should introduce myself. I am from Romania and music has always been my closest friend. Even when I was a child, I loved to bring sounds out of various instruments, not to play a tune, just to hear how the instrument sounds. One day, I touched the keys of a piano with my fingers and I fell in love instantly with that sound. Since that day, I wanted to learn to play the piano. I am a self-taught pianist and my skills are pretty basic. However, I like to spend hours every day just playing the piano. Some years ago, I watched the movie "Hook" by Steven Spielberg on TV and I was really spellbound by the music composed by John Williams. That was the day I said that I want to become a composer. I bought my first MIDI Controller 4 years ago and I started rolling. Just like the piano, my composition skills are basic, but I like to experiment. I have two ways to compose: I either hear the music in my head then play it on the piano or I just play the piano until I say "Hmmm, that sounds pretty good" and I sketch it on a blank sheet paper. And that is pretty much my story. I hope I will get to upload some of my pieces soon.
