August 11, 201213 yr You just did....by saying that you did and reading what is required of said competition.
August 15, 201213 yr For being a judge, I should probably know what the Zelda theme sounds like....I'm not a video game nerd. Can someone send me a youtube link?
August 16, 201213 yr So, just to confirm the submission: Do you want us to upload it to the "Game and Film Music" category and say it's part of the contest?
August 20, 201213 yr no haha, some guy said he had never herd the zelda theme before. so i posted it.
August 20, 201213 yr Well, I guess now is the time to post it. http://www.youngcomposers.com/music/3065/medal-of-honor-theme-arrangement-august-comp/
August 21, 201213 yr So, just to be clear. Should this be a Mozartian Theme and Variations where each variation is obvious and separate, or can it be a later-style Fantasy-type thing? That would be easier to write I would think because a lot of these melodies don't lend themselves well to objective variation themselves but rather to their treatment.
August 21, 201213 yr Yes, I was wondering that as well. Even though I've already written the entire arrangement.... :veryunsure:
August 21, 201213 yr im moving in a week and im packing everyday on top of going to work i have no time for this :(
August 22, 201213 yr That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one we want.
August 23, 201213 yr Just a notice. PLEASE MARK WHERE THE VARIATIONS START! IT WILL MAKE THINGS MUCH CLEARER FOR THE JUDGES! I WILL MARK DOWN ON SCORE CLARITY IF YOU DO NOT! Same goes with interludes.
August 23, 201213 yr I still have had no answer. Is this a fantasy or strict theme and variations. If it is the latter this is going to get very difficult for me, esp given the time constraints.
August 23, 201213 yr yeah, I don't think I can make it, finale just randomly deleted a viola concerto I was almost done with, so I have to start over....
August 24, 201213 yr I have to withdraw my offer to judge. I'll be on vacation the entire judging period.
August 24, 201213 yr @Tokke: I already answer this question: That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one you want. To reirrate: it does not matter which one you use. Both would be a type of variations
August 24, 201213 yr Author Hey all! I apologize! I have been barred from the internet for a week because of my computer harddrive failing. SO: here's what I am going to do. NOBODY is dropping out. We are just going to extend the competition to TWO months, since I was gone. I'm very interested in seeing this through with better participation. And, this is also a hard month for students starting school. So! That's what we'll do. BY THE WAY: the october competition is already in the works and the details are being ironed out. So, be ready to participate in that as well. :) -Connor.
August 24, 201213 yr Author SEE THE ORIGINAL POST FOR NEW DATES. PLEASE RECONSIDER RESCENDING YOUR DISEMBARKING FROM THE COMPETITION!
August 25, 201213 yr I'm in! Sign me up! Also, what are the submission rules/processes? I just joined this site moments ago and the details are not listed above. Thanks!
