  • GO FOR IT! OMG. :D I'm doing a zelda theme. Maybe one of the older games, or a tune from Ocarina of Time.

So we expect something even better than usual. ;)

  • I guess reading the rules before asking would have helped me. Lol...

Im new to this site, I want to participate. how do I do it?

You just did....by saying that you did and reading what is required of said competition.

This is the best theme yet, count me in! Zelda time!!!

For being a judge, I should probably know what the Zelda theme sounds like....I'm not a video game nerd. Can someone send me a youtube link?

Don't worry. All submissions will have a link to the original work.

So, just to confirm the submission:

Do you want us to upload it to the "Game and Film Music" category and say it's part of the contest?

Is this your piece?

no haha, some guy said he had never herd the zelda theme before. so i posted it.

Well, I guess now is the time to post it.

oh. that guy was me.

So, just to be clear. Should this be a Mozartian Theme and Variations where each variation is obvious and separate, or can it be a later-style Fantasy-type thing? That would be easier to write I would think because a lot of these melodies don't lend themselves well to objective variation themselves but rather to their treatment.

Yes, I was wondering that as well.

Even though I've already written the entire arrangement.... :veryunsure:

im moving in a week and im packing everyday on top of going to work i have no time for this :(

That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one we want.

Just a notice. PLEASE MARK WHERE THE VARIATIONS START! IT WILL MAKE THINGS MUCH CLEARER FOR THE JUDGES! I WILL MARK DOWN ON SCORE CLARITY IF YOU DO NOT! Same goes with interludes.

I still have had no answer. Is this a fantasy or strict theme and variations. If it is the latter this is going to get very difficult for me, esp given the time constraints.

yeah, I don't think I can make it, finale just randomly deleted a viola concerto I was almost done with, so I have to start over....

I have to withdraw my offer to judge. I'll be on vacation the entire judging period.

Too bad, everybody seems to be dropping out.

@Tokke: I already answer this question:

That is a wonderful question to answer. Here is my unoffical answer: I will say both since the rules does not clarify which one you want.

To reirrate: it does not matter which one you use. Both would be a type of variations

Hey all! I apologize! I have been barred from the internet for a week because of my computer harddrive failing. SO: here's what I am going to do.

NOBODY is dropping out. We are just going to extend the competition to TWO months, since I was gone. I'm very interested in seeing this through with better participation. And, this is also a hard month for students starting school. So! That's what we'll do. BY THE WAY: the october competition is already in the works and the details are being ironed out. So, be ready to participate in that as well. :)

-Connor.
