Fantasy game Exploration piece

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! This is a fantasy styled game piece for exploring the wonderful world. Its ment to only give hints of melodies and be very free flowing.

There are requirements for posting a piece in Major Works, they are stickeyed in the top of the Major Works thread.

Also, a 'game piece' should go in 'Incidental Music and Soundtracks', so that's where I'm moving it.

Also, you should really tell us more about your piece if you want us to comment on it, so we get a sense of where you were coming from.

...quoted from the rules : 4. Videogame-influenced and background music is not going to be accepted, except for incidental suites intended specifically for presentation in a concert setting. We accept works that are composed for possible performances or pure listening only.

Wow, you've really achieved what you set out to do. This would definitely fit in an MMORPG, and is up there with the standards of the industry! It reminds me a lot of the music from the original Dungeon Siege (one of the most atmospherically beautiful games ever made).

Great work! It's very listenable and doesn't get tiresome. Excellent orchestration technique. I don't really have anything bad to say about this, you really know what you're doing.

Johnathan Thank you very much for your kind words mate! I'm glad you thought the style was up to the standards of the industry! Very kind of you to comment and I appreciate it very much!

Well Nick I am very sorry to have posted in the wrong forum I did not relize the forum had been changed to major works only. I have not posted here in a while that was my mistake and *thanks for pointing that out*.

Also as far as describing more about my piece...if words like*Fantasy,Game,Exploration arnt enough for you then I'm not sure what else you want to know.

In a Fantasy styled game piece the music is set in a flowing textured motion. A common type of music is entitled Exploration music and Combat music set up at placement mark triggers in the game. I'm coming from a sense of beautiful under tones and melodic phrases that slowly over the course of several songs evolve into more constructed themes.

I like it; it's very relaxing and beautiful. I don't know s*** about this style, so all I can say is great job.

Its very relaxing and beautiful. I can relate it not as much as travelling as stopping to look around, to tell the truth. Its a very versatile piece, however, and I must ergo give you props.

I like it. It's very relaxing and really sounded like an exploration theme in a movie. I think it especially fits in a movie much more than in a game. Your orchestration sounds beautiful, keep it up!

Hey thanks Lord and Tang! I really appreciate the nice words!

Thank you!

Nice - although I'm entirely sold on the whole sustain effects that you have in the strings, it's a really nice piece!
