Composing Opportunities

Featured Replies

A friend just surprised me with the news that he creates games for "international clients". Looking at his site, all he has is simple flash games, yet he has a customer in Malaysia and is being paid for the work. He told me that he gained this opportunity through a web site that contains listings of such jobs. However, he's in high school, and most likely with little or no credentials, but a web site with very simple flash games.

If he is able to find such impressive work with such a small start, what about composers? It doesn't have to be paid or extremely formal, but I'm interested in seeking perhaps a mailing list, forum, online listing, etc., that will offer opportunities to collaborate and compose music for others. That is, something as close to a job as can be found, as my friend did. Even if it's just for flash games or documentaries, anything is good. Something that can be done completely online is a must, unless any of you know of a reliable web site based in Australia.

Actually, it's quite similar to those music community forums where you see people offering to collaborate on songs, such as Dmusic, but I'm seeking something a little more formal or professional.

Thanks in advance!
