Hello All (From Programmer)

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am (about two weeks) new here and firstly I would like to ask you to excuse my English (my native language is Czech).

I am not composer, I am programmer - interested in music theory and algorithmic composition. I watch music from the other side than you – but my goal has much in common with your goals.  I am – also - trying to produce music or good music. :-)

I am not here to make advertising for my program.  I'm looking for experience and possibility of cooperation.  I can produce some results and thus be potentially useful to someone (specially to beginner) who will need it; e.g. I can analyze your piano composition, break up piano writing to voices, complete it with additional voices, try to orchestrate it  according to some of known orchestrations, or something like this.

I can handle only MIDI or MusicXML files. Unfortunately, these formats are not too popular among composers and musicians, but music saved in pdf or mp3 is not possible to read by program (or it is possible with some difficulties).

Of course  I do not have in the program all the rules that experienced music composer knows -  e.g.  I am abstracting from the possibilities of individual instruments (except range) - in the sense of the sentence:  “computers play everything”.

But  I would like to ask you - if you will listen to something I produce  and you will notice some obvious mistakes, please let me know.

Best regards

Vladimir Ladma, Czech Republic

Welcome! Look forward to hearing some of your own compositional efforts.
