Crimson Flight

Featured Replies

Hello there, my name's Kyle and I've been composing for about .... 2 or 3 years now, and this is a piano piece I've just written and I know that the structure of is quite strange, but I would just like to hear what you guys think.

Thanks!

Wow! Very nice feel, and it looks like quite a challenge to play, though it's clear it's very possible. One thing, though - while you've got some great harmonies and melodic ideas, the ending is way too weak in light of the rest of the piece. I was looking for something stronger by the time it got there.

I especially like the change in feel at measure 24, it works like a charm and the left-hand figure is very catchy. The right hand chords should be in two layers, though, to avoid all those ties.

ditto ditto johannhowitzer

the piece starts off very nice, very catchy, the middle section is even better! Oh, but don't agree with those triplets in the first section/

it is very catchy (that repeated left hand movement in the second section) Although, i don't quite understand: Where did that last part some from? - the last eight or so bars from the ending, I didn't have a problem with it untill the piece ended, I though that little section was going to lead back into the middle section again. But, good work, :) although the ending was puzzling to me, it still works.

this piece put me in a good mood :D

Thanks for the comments and everything!

Yeah I know what you guys mean about the ending...maybe I'll try to alternate that a bit. It was kinda just like "the last few moments" in the "flight" and that's where the flight stops and they land peacefully, or something. But it was still kind of a weird way to end it, musically...so yeah

do you have finale

Yes, yes I do.... Finale Allegro 2005 tho >_

how can get it

;) ......download it.......or buy the full version....on the website.....

I like this one too. Very catchy, I thing the end was just a little bit off, but I still like the way it sounds.

Nice.

Hey, so I fixed the ending on it, made it not so weak. In fact, it's quite exciting. So here's the revised version of it.

This is essentially a jazz piece, complete with what amounts to a transcribed solo section. Yet still, the ending falls out of the genre, which disappoints my sensibilities. You end ending it with simple major chords laid out as if it were a classical composition.

oops.

How many hands is it written for?
