February 11, 20179 yr Hello all, I'm a student at a university in Colorado studying percussion performance. I'm planning on playing an original composition on my senior recital that involves both players(myself and a saxophonist) getting stung by a scorpion on the foot while trying to play. He and I understand the risks of performing such a piece, but I'm concerned that the university could be liable if any freak scorpion accident occurs. Should I go through with performing the piece, and should I take any special action? Thanks! -Da Gmaster

February 12, 20179 yr You need to make sure the university is fully aware of what you are planning and approves it. If they are holding the event, they will be liable if anything happens. They need the ability to decide whether to assume that risk well in advance.
April 29, 20178 yr Personally, I would not be happy with such a performance. . . Even if the audience does not know what will be performed. If you really need to do this, be sure that the university know of your plans. I have no high expectations, but who knows!
