Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Arrangement

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting and composing. I have only started Music theory as a subject in December due to complications with finding a teacher. I must arrange twinkle twinkle little star with several instruments and I would like to receive some feedback please. This is for a Caribbean wide exam and I would love to hand in something presentable so please I can use all the feedback I can get. Thank you in advance

It's very odd if you started studying in December that you are asked something like this. Anyway, supposing it is so..., I think the piano is not the best instrument to work with this kind of exercises in the beginning.

First, we should know if this is an exercise about harmony or what ? Arrangement?

I should use instruments (libraries) easier to manage: a melodic one for the melody, a string section with three voices for harmony, and a bass. No more. If you can't write more or less properly for the piano, it will sound very poor. Strings will give a better sense of continuity.

The thing is I'm taking Music as a subject. I am in my final year of highschool in the Caribbean and I am required to arrange a simple nursery rhyme and make a composition of my own by the end of the school year, which is very soon. Due to complications with teacher I was able to finally get one in December, but I worked extensively to try to fit 5 years on music theory in 5 months. So basically I must use all my knowledge of music theory to arrange Twinkle Twinkle into my own interpretation, and I was just looking for outsie help when I am not with my teacher. And I chose these instruments because they must be performed live and my island is very scarce with musicians. Sorry for the troubles for anyone trying to help.
