The melodies also don't feel very 'organic' is the only word I can think to use. I do quite like the over-all tone of the section around the 3:00 mark onward. (though it does feel like a build up to a 'climactic' section that doesn't arrive) I think perhaps practising with some shorter tracks/ideas with less sections along the way could be worth looking into as several minute compositions with lots of sections and changes can be very challenging to keep cohesive, especially when you're just starting out.
