October 15, 20187 yr This is a merely short, improvised piece for piano which is a depiction of one of my favorite paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe; and, while composing, I only thought of the color blue. Enjoy!
October 15, 20187 yr I think it's a lovely piece of music. Sounds impressionistic. Improvisation is a somewhat underrated technique for composing; sometimes the spontaneous stuff yields good results. To be honest, though, I don't see it as a "greatly emotional" piece, as instructed for performance at the start. Playing it freely and fragilely makes perfect sense, but the content seems more introspective than outwardly emotion. If a performer played it with "great emotion," I think it would look incongruous. Normal expressive rubato would probably suffice. Very nice composition, thank you for sharing with us ☺️

You definitely make a good point -- I think I just over-think that stuff since I have such a clear idea of what I want from a performance.
