What do you think? And: how can I develop this? Any ideas?

This is great! (I don't really listen to atonal-leaning music but good ideas....) Explore the theme in Eb major (shift with a Eb major 7 chord) and then  repeat the process in Db then do a descending thing like you dod at the end but in Db then hold a bass note and then gradually shift back into the original theme/9how you had it before). Does that help? I m sorry I am just not one to compose atonal-is so....yah!

The tonality you've chosen is fine. It has value and can be developed. But you're stretching the limit of that ostinato. So with that in mind there are many things you can do to add interest (if you don't mind a little back seat driving). First I would begin to alter it much earlier in the piece and introduce some sort of punctuation from other instruments here and there so that it can continue. Think of the punctuation as fuel. You can then invert and/or transpose the ostinato along the way. And you can pass it off to other instrumnets. Just some suggestions off the top of my head. Keep working on it. It's good.

I had to turn it off after 50 seconds. The ostinato changed but by then it had started to pall. I really don't think much can be developed from this. Best to leave it as just a short piece. There are various devices in music to bring about tension and resolution or present a string of novelties and surprises that hold listeners' interests so if you want to develop thematic material you have to learn how to do that. Study scores of composers who seem to fit in with your aims.
