nocturne with a storm

Featured Replies

This is a peaceful nocturne/ballad that gets continuously interrupted by stormy winds and dancing tangents. It's dramatic and heartfelt. Rushed and calm. This piece had two completely different versions written down before I decided to combine both of them into one, since I liked both.

Commented on your YT video. Really smart choice to combine the peaceful and the intense passages, it works really well. Reminds me of Chopin’s F Major Nocturne, not in tone, but in concept.

The very beginning passage made a me a bit uncomfortable. The changing tone motion over the I6/4 chord could have been a little better supported by inner voice motion without losing the sense of tonic. Good work, though.
