Featured Replies

Hello all! These are 2 new cues written for a fantasy medieval world.

The first is a Night Time exploring piece for going around the towns and wilderness.

The next piece is geared towards Heroic/Combat music for in game.

Game combat 4

Comments are more then welcome! Thanks alot mates!

hello jeff,

the music was great. although i'd say the music gets pretty standard for medieval type games. well. i guess they should be. otherwise it wouldn't be the music they are. but my point is, i've heard millions of medieval type game music and it seems the instrumentation, the mood of the music are typically the same. it gets kind of dull.

that being said. i do like the combat one. those percussions are always nice for the action. good job.

Thanks beefy! your correct I was not trying to do anything new with that night time explore track. I actually really enjoy the harps and typical flute styled orchestration in medieval scenes of that nature =)

Thanks for the nice words mate! Glad you enjoyed the combat piece!

Jeff

The night time one sounds almost exactly like the Fallraen (snowy woods) theme from Dungeon Siege. Maybe not the same melody, but the same instrumentation, figuration, perhaps even meter. I really feel like I'm playing Dungeon Siege while I listen to it. Nice, though, and telling of your talent if you can produce something on par with such a great game.

As for the combat thing, my goodness but that's a lot of timpani hits. Great stuff, and I love the flute entrance about halfway through. This would work great as the background for an RPG battle, not just an action sequence or an FMV. It ends, so I'm assuming you meant this as FMV background, not a playable battle loop.

Really liked the first half of the battle theme. Sounded very good. After a while, though, it seemed like you were just trying to stretch it out.

By the way, what program are you using to make that?
