January 7, 20206 yr Hello, here I am sharing a piece for piano composed the last year. Hope you like it ๐ https://soundcloud.com/donethur/piece-for-piano-h
January 9, 20206 yr Hey this really sounds like Mozart or something. It's nice! Around 30 seconds, I think the transition could be a bit smoother. I really like the diminished chords following that though!๐ Edited January 9, 20206 yr by ModderKevin

I really like the diminished chords following that though!๐ ย Thanks!!. I was inspired mostly in Beethoven for thisย :), It trended to sound darker than other pieces I have and my musicย is generally strong in its sonority, so itย ended sounding like him adapted to my style. I have to say that Beethoven and Chopin areย my favorite composers. the transition you mention, I actually like it, but I guess, there are different tastes and decisions, which resultsย in several composers taking different paths, therefore making different music.ย I always try to be honest with myself, if I feel it is correct, then I try to leave it asย it is (otherwise I would feel it is not my music). It was different before anyway (it hadย more high notes at that transition). But I tried to leave a small silence in the higher notes for what was coming next.ย thanks for your comment and listening :) Edited January 9, 20206 yr by Donethur

Now that you mention it, you did make a great decision when you took out the high notes there. It gave the pieceย a darker mood which is what you were going for and what I also personally like. Honestly, I'm still learning composition so it'sย really cool to talk to an actually good composer like you. Also, how do you position your microphone when you are recording? I'm just wondering because it sounds quite professional.

I am not a good pianist, so I try to dedicate more to the composition. Libraries nowadays can sound amazingly realistic (you are not the first one who thinks it is a real piano). I use EWQL pianos, in this piece itย is the Bosendorfer. this library is very good. I recently purchased the Bluethner from Vienna Symphonic library and it is killer, very realistic, check how it sounds: ย
January 9, 20206 yr Wow, that is really cool. Thanks for sharing that with me! I will be sure to check out that library because I usually record on the grand piano but I also have a electric piano which can use sound libraries.

January 9, 20206 yr Author By the way, if you liked that piece, maybe you could like other piece I composed as thisย is the closer one I have to the piece H. ๐ ย Edited January 9, 20206 yr by Donethur
January 9, 20206 yr Oh yeah! I saw this etude earlier while I was scrolling through your profile. It does seem similar to Chopin's style. I'm really catching onto the chromatics. Just listening to the first second of the piece reminds me of the ocean etude. Nice!
