an impressive introduction. It seems appropriate for the dramatic scene of an action or sci-fi movie. Do you have a score to see what's going on?

Beautifully written. However, this really needs some expression/modulation to make it more expressive, especially with the inner moving parts (as it stands they are hard to hear).

I second this, or at least a MIDI file.

This kind of writing I think could be greatly enhanced by paying attention to where the music is going at the macro-tonal level and coordinating that with giant dynamic gestures (big crescendo's or decrescendos).  That's really the only thing I can think of that would make this even more musical than it already is.  I think dynamics always tend to make music sound more alive and vibrant.  Also - really cool use of extended harmony.  Thanks for sharing!

I would really be interested in hearing about that when i finish (since you can't see the details right now)

I think I'm essentially saying the same thing that @PeterthePapercomPosersaid about dynamics. The VST you are using (EW Hollywood series if I remember correctly...) should have what's called modulation and expression parameters. These parameters let you transition between the different dynamic layers of the samples (i.e. loud, medium loud, soft, etc.) In your DAW you can automate these parameters so they adjust during playback to make the performance sound more realistic.

In the audio file you posted it sounds like the modulation and expression parameters are constant at their default values. This makes the playback sound lifeless, even though the piece is well written. If you spent some time playing around with these parameters to make the phrasing more realistic, it would make a world of difference.
