March 20, 20215 yr suite-r 3 improvisations 3 memories. I have a new love now. By the by: I am subtitling this work as "Reminiscences of An Extraordinary Genius". No, no, no, I do NOT mean myself, what do you think I am here, anyway, a self-absorbed, self-indulgent bozo of a human being and seeking the approbation, nay, utter worship, of my fellow YCers? No, no, no, none of that! What I mean to say with said subtitle is that I can and do remember an extraordinary genius with whom I used to share certain moments. Alas, that bird has flown. But as I said, I have a new love now and most is now right, for the forseeable read forver future of my existence...natch, knock-on-wood and all that sh*t. Enjoy, friends, if you might and in any case, please remember...I WILL be seeing you in the stacks!
March 20, 20215 yr I like the first improvisation the most. At times it has an almost Moonlight-Sonata vibe. Any plans to expand them into more deliberate/arranged pieces?

I first noodled the ostinato-like part in the bass into existence and then later added the melody lines with special attention to that little two note falling motif meant to echo her two syllable name. After developing those ideas I sat down and improvised the first piece bringing in other various details that I had thought about beforehand. I didn't do that so much for parts 2 and 3 and I agree with your implied comment that these two could be considered as un-better than the first, not that I am fond of making such judgements. Hence 2 and 3 are quite different in feel and sound. Since all three were produced out of the state of my psyche at the time, which was in large part influenced by all those concurrent events, I hesitate to change anything about them. But in the future I very well may start an improvisatory process with semi-developed ideas that, going in, I will plan to work over later into something that might eventually be referred to as music. Thanks for you input, it has provided me with the impetus to review the entirely of suite-r, its creation, as well as aid me in production of future pieces and I value it for those reasons and not so much for having the opportunity to bend your ear - if you have indeed reached this current state of bending. Arigatou gozaimasu! Japanese for thank you, not sure why I do that sometimes but I often do!
