It's whole step major third whole step major third repeating, a symmetrical scale. the thing about it is that if you place it with the first whole step being on the flat 7 of a major chord going to the 1, and then jump to the tritone's chord, you can use the SAME scale for the exact same effect on two seemingly opposite keys.
