October 13, 20214 yr 2nd Prelude. Constructive criticism is most welcome. Edited October 13, 20214 yr by ComposedBySam
October 15, 20214 yr It sounds great! I'm not one to critique, so I really just wanted to comment and express how much I liked this piece!
October 17, 20214 yr Lovely piece! I like how you walk through different harmonies to create the effect of instability throughout the middle section. I especially like the ending, unresolved. It's like street lights, seemingly unending. Nice job!

October 26, 20214 yr I really loved the opening mood and thematic material. It is very much "Satie" in feel. However, I found the variation(s) of the initial theme somewhat less satisfying. For me it created a slightly different feel then the opening. I would have wanted maybe something different to enhance or juxtapose the initial thematic material; however, let me add - It is truly a lovely work and a well composed musical selection. Mark

October 27, 20214 yr I thought it was really beautiful, and I appreciated that it’s chill and straightforward. It sounds semi-improvisational to me, which is cool. Mss. 47 on to the end are interesting. I thought some harmonic choices were really nice (like mss. 55-56), but some felt “forced” (like mss. 49-50). But I would rather hear someone venture out, than stay harmonically static. Another thing is I noticed some unnecessary notes — for example, mss. 28-34 make perfect sense, in terms of how it would play under a pianist’s hands. Even the 10th span on mss. 32-33 are fine, being on the black keys, a simple roll of fingers if the right hand is small. But mss. 40 and especially 41 are written awkwardly, even with a rolled chord. On the 3rd and 4th beat of ms. 40, just move that Ab on your right hand thumb to either an Eb or F (depending on your desired chord), and on ms. 41, simply moving the G in the r.h. thumb up an octave solves the problems. I think the piece overall is really nice! Thanks for sharing 😃
