Fantasia on "Littleroot Town" from Pokemon R/S/E ala Bach

Hi all!

Here is the Allemande from my Suite WIP, imagined as a "chorale" fantasia on the theme "Littleroot Town" from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Stay tuned for the repeats - there's quite a bit of elaborate ornamentation!

The playback has the theme being played on a coupled harpsichord whilst the rest is played on a single-manual, so the theme can be heard clearly. This would not be possible in a live performance, unless one plans to use a piano instead.

All comments and critique welcomed!

Weirdly enough I know almost nothing about Pokémon music, but it sounds like Baroque music which I like a lot :B. Is the music in the audio detuned by half a tone BTW?

Also sorry sir, but I don't see any of those ornaments written despite I do hear them. Is this on purpose? I think it would be good to include everything you've made in the sheet, even if it's not meant to be for live performance (you either write a score or don't write it if you don't need to, any other thing in the middle seems misleading or illogical to me in this specific case). Well, of course in case I am not blind and you did not really include those, lol.

Kind regards!!

Regarding ornamentation: this is very stylistic and I added it to imitate a live performance, where the performer would sometimes elect to add their own flourishes in the repeats of the music for interest. Sometimes there are no such flourishes, sometimes the flourishes are subtle, and sometimes they are very elaborate, as in here (e.g. listen to any recording of any English Suite by Hantaï or Schiff). But these flourishes are almost never written down explicitly (e.g. out of the 18 complete keyboard suites by Bach, he only "fully wrote out" two Sarabandes). This is very much alike the choice of tempo and articulation - which there are plenty in the playback, but not in the score.

I've attached the score of the playback for your interest. Hopefully you can see why the score is presented the way it is.

I've listened to this a few times, and hunted in the score for where I could possibly find the original Pokemon melody from "Littleroot Town".  I can't find it anywhere.  I don't know if you've just managed to cleverly hide it somewhere in your piece or something.  What I tried to listen for/look for in the score is the characteristic anacrusis of "Littleroot Town" somewhere in your music to help me get started in following along and noticing the original melody in your music somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Your Allemande is nice and has the characteristics of a Baroque Allemande dance, which is the only one I have somehow not written yet myself.  It's a really cool piece and has the proper form of an Allemande too.  I just don't see (or hear) the relation to "Littleroot Town" is all.  Maybe you could include a score with the parts of the original melody highlighted for clarity?  Thanks for sharing this Allemande!

Please see the score attached. The melody is in the inner voice but I've highlighted it using a coupled harpsichord in the playback, so it should be reasonably audible. There's some imitative counterpoint too (e.g. b9-10 upper, b31 upper).
